At around 1000 metres above sea level, the village of Donnersbachwald, and thus also the Haus Kamila, is usually at a very snow-sure altitude. You can therefore enjoy fantastic snow landscapes and really work off your excess energy in the Riesneralm ski area while your children make their first experiences on the slopes in the multi-award-winning ski school.
The Riesneralm ski area offers varied skiing fun for young and old. With its own ski school and a wide range of beginner-friendly ski swings and platter lifts, the region offers an optimal start to winter sports. Experienced winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy mogul slopes and black runs.
When the snow conditions are good, a cross-country ski trail leads from the main lift, past Haus Kamila, to the end of the valley and back again on the opposite side of the valley. For a change from classic skiing, there is also a toboggan run from the Mörsbachhütte, which is also open during the winter season, directly into the centre of the village.
The Riesneralm is part of the Schneebärenland, which also includes the Planeralm, Tauplitz, Loser and the Kaiserau ski area. When you buy a multi-day ticket, you can also use your ticket in these ski areas and thus plan carefree excursions. Tauplitz, for example, is only 30 minutes away by car. If you have the Steiermark Joker or the Salzburg Super Ski Card, you can also use it in the local ski area of Riesneralm.
